Prisoners in China
April 15, 2008
25 Pinays who are supposed to work in China are now in jail. According to the news, an African men whom they don’t know personally approach them while they were still in the airport here in the Philippines asking them if they can help them bring some of their baggage since they already reached the allowed maximum weight of baggage per passenger. These African men promised them to pay $300 if they will bring the bag with them but upon arrival at the airport in China, the Pinays were arrested for Drug trafficking. The sad part is, the African men were not with them since they told them that they will take the next flight going to China and told them that they will call as soon as they get there. They were just helping and now, they’re the one who are in prison and waiting for what punishment they will give to them.
I know it’s really natural for us Filipino to be helpful with others, but what if these things will happen to us? The lesson here is, it’s okay to be kind and helpful with others but we should also be aware that there are some people who’s trying to win your trust and won’t do good on you. I hope that the Philippine Consulate General in China will help these women since the reason why they’re going in China is to work for their family here in Philippines and not to sell drugs. Should they have known about these earlier, maybe they will never help those foreign men. Let’s pray for them and I hope that they will be free soon.
What’s Happening Now?!
April 12, 2008
I woke up this morning feeling deppressed. Why? Because I heard from the news that the price of petroleum gas increased again by P0.50! OH MEN!!!! If I remember it right, the increase started since the last week of February up to now. And it’s the 7th time na nag increase. If you’re going to sum it up, nasa P3.50 na ang itinaas. Am I going to use a bicycle now?
Oh my gulay!! Kahit gulay ang mahal na din. And just this morning I bought a milk for our daughter, I asked the store clerk if the milk already increased, good thing because according to her there’s no memo yet about the price increase for the milk but not until May. Hay! Taas ng taas ng presyo ng bilihin pero hindi naman nagtataas ng sweldo.
